  • Insuring clause 1: Professional Liability
  • Sections A & D - £1,000,000 in the annual aggregate, including cost and expenses
  • Sections B, C, E - No cover given
  • Insuring clauses 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6: No cover given
  • Insuring clause 7: Reputation and Brand Protection - £100,000 in the aggregate
  • Insuring clause 8: Court Attendance Costs - £2,000 per day, £100,000 in the annual aggregate
LEGAL EXPENSES:
  • Legal Defence and Fitness to Practice Representation £100,000 any one claim

If you are in full-time employment within the NHS or private practice sector, any claim or complaint arising from professional errors made against you will usually be covered by the NHS or your employer and, under these circumstances you may not need to buy professional indemnity cover for yourself (although you must check with your employer).

However, if a complaint made against you to The Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC), or the regulatory body of the NHS, you would need cover to meet the costs associated with defending and representing you at any disciplinary hearing.
